Abstract
Variations in theaflavin and thearubigin content during fermentation and the effects of these variations on brightness and total color in black tea were evaluated at the Tea Research Center in Lahijan in the year 2004. Percentages of theaflavin (TF), thearubigin (TR), total color and brightness were determined in two clones 100 and in the natural Chinese hybrid during flushing in the months of June, August and October and different fermentation time (30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 minutes). It is evident from the results obtained that apart from genetic differences in the clones under study, changes in climatic conditions during different periods of flushing and fermentation time can to a great extent influence the amount of TF, TR, total color and brightness in black tea. Results obtained also indicated significant interacting effects of clones, different flushing and fermentation times on the quality-determining characteristics of black tea. No significant correlations were found between TR and brightness however, significant correlations were found between other characteristics studied at the 1% probability level. On the basis of regression analysis with fermentation time (independent variable) and each of the characteristics studied (dependent variable), linear relationships were detected between fermentation time and brightness and TF content. Multi-variable regression analysis between brightness (dependent variable) and TF and TR (independent variables) showed that more than 56% of variations in brightness in black tea was related to TF and TR. Also multi-variable regression analysis between total color (dependent variable) and TF and TR (independent variable) indicated that more than 43% of variations in total color in black tea can be attributed to TF and TR percentages

Abstract
Leaf chlorosis during both green house forcing and postharvest have been a long standing problem in Easter liliy. The symptoms typically start in the basal leaves and moves progressively upward and reduce flower quality and economic value of crop. In order to delay leaf chlorosis and increase vase life, an experiment was carried out on Asiatic hybrid Lilium cv Canova to study different treatments of benzyladenine (BA) and silver thiosulphate (STS) on pre and postharvest attributs, respectively. The results showed that preharvest application of BA effect the chlorophyll content of leaves significantly, but itُ s effect on stem and pedicle length and harvest time were not significant. Treatment of 0.44 mM BA on increased chlorophyll content greater than another treatments. In postharvest study, factors of 0.44 mM BA on chlorophyl1 content of leaves and leaf longevity, treatment of 0.88mM BA+ 0.6 mM STS on vase life, total soluble solids and uptake solution had most effect. The results showed that application of STS and BA can be used to prolong vase life, delay leaf senescence and enhance postharvest quality of lilium cut flowers during their transport market.

Abstract
To compare the allelopathic potential of some Guilan province rice cultivars with allelopathically approved IRRI rice cultivars, a factorial experiment was conducted in completely randomized block design with 3 replications on the Experimental Farm of Agricultural College of Guilan University in spring 2005. Two factors including a) seven rice cultivars (traditional cultivars of Hashemi, Ali Kazemi, and Tarom and 2 modern cultivars of Khazar, and Dorfak and two IRRI cultivars of Dollar and IR64), and b) two types of planting, (including monoculture and mixed culture of each cultivar with Barnyardgrass) were used. A monoculture of Barnyardgrass was also used as a control. Growth rate (GR) and leaf area index (LAI) of Barnyardgrass were determined after 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of transplantation (WT), in mixed and monoculture treatments. In addition, after 3, 6, and 9 WTs the type and number of weeds in 1 m2 of each plot was determined. Rice plant samples were taken in 2, 4, 6, and 8 WTs, and were extracted in the Lab to be tested for germination for barnyardgrass and redroot pigweed seeds in Petri dishes. The filed research results showed that GR, LAI, number of weeds and yield of barnyardgrass grown with Dollar cultivar were lower than the others, which indicates higher allelopathic properties of this cultivar. Rice cultivars water extract evaluation of Petri dish also showed that Dollar cultivar has higher allelopathic potential than the other cultivars. Increasing the concentration of the water extracts increased the suppression of treated seedlings. From starting to geramination stage of the rice cultivars, allelopathic effects of the water extracts decreased. Leaves had the highest level of allelopathic potential in comparison to other organs. In other words, the pure extract of Dollar cultivar taken form samples in 2 and 6 WTs had the highest allelopathy potential among the cultivars and samples.

Abstract
Development of oil seed crops is the most important aim in our country to achieve self sufficiency. This study was conducted to assess the suitability of oil brassicas species in rain-fed warm areas of Iran. This research was performed for three years in Agricultural Research stations of Gonbad (Golestan). Twenty varieties and hybrids (B. napus, B. rapa, B. juncea ) were compared in RCBD with three replications under rain fed conditions. Each plot had 4 rows 5-meter long. Combined analysis results indicated that there were significant differences at 1% probability level among years and varieties for No. of days to maturity, No. of pod per plant, oil%, oil and seed yield. The highest seed yield was obtained in the 2nd year (2103.48 kg.ha), followed by the 1th and 3rd year (1771.50 and 1575.13 kg.ha, respectively). Namely, year environment factor had a significant effect on the rape seed product. j-98-102.51-5 (B. juncea), Alexandra and comet (Spring B. napus) showed the highest seed yield (2484, 2326 and 2290 Kg.ha, respectively). Regression analysis via step by step method explained that No. of pod per plant and oil percentage had significant positive effects (508.53 and 96.48 respectively) and No. of days to maturity significant negative effect (-78.63) on the seed yield. Factor analysis extracted four factors. Factor loading of the first three eigen values showed that the first three factors explained 98.794%, sum of variance. Rates of first, second and third factors were 45.575%, 36.816% and 16.403%, respectively. The first factor, second factor and third factor were named productivity factor (seed yield and oil yield), sink factor (No. of pod per plant), fixed capital factor (No. of day to maturity and plant height) respectively. Generally, j-98-102.51-5, Alexandra and comet varieties are advisable for Fall planting under rain fed conditions in Gonbad area because they had the highest seed yield and earliness. Also, we can introduce less No. of days to maturity (earliness) and more No. of pod per plant as select index under rain fed conditions in Gonbad.
